Okay, let’s face it, Sarah Palin is the first woman on a GOP ticket. I give great props for that. Finally. I don’t agree with her politics but it’s good she’s out there. But. And and it’s a big one. What’s the deal with running around bragging about being a “Hockey Mom”, trotting out the kids for photo ops and then crying sexism when the other side even mentions she’s a woman? Like most politicians, Governor Palin is trying to have it both ways. I know she can not control the press, but one more picture of her clutching her baby, or discussing what it was like being a Governor while being pregnant and then saying it’s no different than a man or anything else about child bearing or rearing before she shows she succinctly speaks on the issues facing America and the world, screams of “Don’t be tough on me, I’m a Mom”. “And if you are tough on me, you’re sexist.” This may be the most politically incorrect thing I have ever written, but who can take any more? Women have babies and men don’t. Please understand, as one who was raised by a single mother, I am well aware of how hard my mother worked for less pay then her male counterparts. But never. Never. Did she trot her kids out for a raise, for compassion or to get people to rally behind her so she could gain position. The crazy thing about it is, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO SAY ANYTHING! You can’t say a word or you’re sexist. NOT A WORD! When Palin makes the statement that Obama will be sorry that he did not choose Hillary as a running mate, the question is, Why? Because she’s a woman? Because now she’s going to use her womanhood to rally other women? As if that is why she thinks American women should vote for the McCain ticket. Because she’s a woman? Governor Palin, is that why you scream you’re a “Hockey Mom” with every interview (when you grant one) and speech? So you can remind folks you’re a woman? Start screaming about how you’ll deal with Putin. Oh that’s right you did. You said we may have to invade Russia. If you’re such a strong executive and as you say you’ve actually run something, how about trotting out some of the Alaskans who work in government that actually sing you praise… without reservation that if they don’t they’ll be fired.
Being a Mom is great. However, flaunting motherhood for votes? I guess it’s all about winning. Okay, go ahead… call me sexist.
