I know the majority of folks out there use Windows computers, but for the few, the proud and ever growing that use Macs, this post is for you. The Mac platform has always offered an immense ease of use, so much so it was emulated by Microsoft when they came up with Windows. Though I can go on and on about that, this post is about three of the ease of use website building softwares which currently dominate the Mac market. More so, this is about those who look to move from the entry level to the more professional, without shelling out a little over a thousand dollars for the Adobe Web Suite and spending months dealing with it’s learning curve. This points to Rapidweaver as the web builder of choice.
So what does this mean to all those sites that were started in iWeb and Sandvox? Simple, transfer them over. Great, only one problem, they don’t play nicely with each other. My guess, as part of a way to stem defection from their products, they’ve taken the position, “If you leave me, you’ll have to start from scratch”. And start from scratch you basically have to do. Either start from scratch or manipulate css code, locate your web assets such as graphics and photos and make sure they all land in the right spot. I’m sorry but that is not very “Mac” like.
In comes, Switch To Rapidweaver.com with their step by step instructions on how to make the transfer, the Mac Way. Point, Click, Drag, Copy, and Paste, all those things that made Bill Gates salivate so many years ago. But I said I would talk about that. Anyway, for all of you Mac folks out there looking to move your iWeb or Sandvox site to Rapidweaver and do it in a manner that doesn’t require you to take night courses at the local community college, I highly recommend you give their site a visit.
