As many have heard by now, the television duo Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes of the Fox News long running Hannity and Colmes series is going splitsville with the liberal leaning Alan Colmes heading his own way.
Since 1996, Sean and Alan have performed like the odd couple; Hannity relishing the ire he garners by emphatically standing up for the right wing Conservative Way, while Colmes less vigorously championed the Liberal Left.
Sometimes it’s like watching the Harlem Globetrotters play the Washington Generals. At some point they play a good game, but we know the Generals are really there for entertainment so the Globetrotters can do their tricks. In the end, just as on Hannity and Colmes, when Hannity has trotted out his fourth or so right wing guest and shouted down all of Colme’s deer in the headlights liberal experts, the score is inevitably Globetrotters (Hannity) 123 to the General’s (Colmes) 35.
So I say, “Are you ready for some basketball”? Wouldn’t it be interesting to see Hannity tip it off with Al Sharpton weekly? Suddenly, it’s no longer a Globetrotter game it’s a Lakers/Boston encounter. It’s Magic slashing to the hoop and Larry Bird in three point land. Would Sean Hannity dare to step on that court? Does he really want to play ball or is he content doing his best imitation of ‘Curly’ Neal and putting on a one man show? C’mon Sean, how about a real game of political pundit b’ball. And Al, everyone is waiting to see what you look like in basketball shorts… Okay, I went to far. But we would all love this game. Love this show. “Hannity and Sharpton”. The Left would continue to loathe Hannity and the Right would equally loathe Sharpton. C’mon, you know this is a Tivo moment. Uh… I think I hear the ref blowing the whistle now.
You heard it here…
